Cookie: Anyway, I have had enough of that stupid kid that’s just moved in next to us. The runt insists on playing just outside our door.
Me: Why does it bother you so much?
Cookie: Well, it’s a Pavlovian thing.
Me: Explain..
Cookie: You don’t get dogs! Any sound near the house has to be answered with crazy barks and a feral advance.
Me: Well, can’t you recondition your instincts?
Cookie: No?!!
Me: Why??
Cookie: For the same reason you can’t stop writing sappy stuff like 2047.
Me: Oh you wretched nasty dog! Just you wait… An hour every morning and evening with the savage apartment-kids shall set you right…
Cookie: No? No!! Please!!! They are crazy! They want me to fetch stuff.
Cookie: *wags tail*

just an affirmation. is 2047 a play on "twenty four seven"?
You do O'levels and A levels too right? Were you made to read "Waiting for Godot"?
no.. its actually from 2046, a film by Wong Kar Wai. Chow (the main guy) writes a story called 2047, about leaving the world of "2046"..
i forget now, surely the story had more relevance..
no.. we dont have O/A levels here.. atleast 99% of us dont. i came across beckett only in college... never read Waiting for Godot though..
see u just proved my point on mid-week posts!
You are brilliant!
donny boy - i read 2047 on wednesday and was DISGUSTED with all the schmaltz.. this is in reference to that!!
Narendra - thanks, really!! :)
btw do you know that the Ma Ka Ladla song is a favourite with FM people in Patna. And every morning they play it, I think of that video and nothing cracks me up more than that all day!! :)
Better. Much better though you could use some conditioning. Remember to prowl like a cub so that you can become a tiger on the other side of the river... (or whatever Bandhavgarh ppl would like us to believe)
dont remind me of that mail..
I've watched Wong Kar Wai films, including that one, with a dog, but I don't think he was paying attention, much. As for dogs reading blog posts, a friend says her dog reads mine, but I'm not sure I believer her....
you should you should.. never underestimate the power of a dog!
btw - great blog!!!
Your conversations with your strangely verbose (but intelligent) dog, are a joy to read. Thanks for the giggles. :)
:) thanks!!
